The Saints' Everlasting Rest - Rev. Richard Baxter 1650 Richard Baxter's sermon affected many people in England in the late 1600's. He was born near Shrewsbury in 1615, and died at London in 1691. It was said of Baxter that if he had lived in the primitive times, he would have been one of the fathers of the church.

True Religion Delineated by Joseph Bellamy "True Religion Delineated" by Joseph Bellamy with an Introduction by Jonathan Edwards was first printed in 1750 and is republished online by International Outreach, Inc. Joseph Bellamy was tutored by Jonathan Edwards following his graduation from Yale College in 1735. Bellamy became a key figure in the Great Awakening with many being converted through his ministry.
The Complete Works of Rev. Thomas Boston Haven't heard much about Thomas Boston? Most likely you will recognize one of his writings: "A Soliloquy on the Art of Man-Fishing." Boston died in 1732, at age 57. His biographer remarks that even before Boston's death, young and old had come to pronounce his name with reverence. It has become "a synonym for holy living".

Margaret Fell - "Women's Speaking" Margaret Fell (1614-1702), "Women's Speaking Justified, Proved, and Allowed of by the Scriptures, All such as speak by the Spirit and Power of the Lord Jesus" (ca. 1666 or 1667). Margaret Fell was a Quaker writer whose messages had an impact in the 1700's and are still contemporary.
"The Fighting Sailor Turn'd Peaceable Christian: Manifested in the Convincement and Conversion of Thomas Lurting" Thomas Lurting is not a name easily recongnized today. He wrote this interesting article in London, the 30th of the 11th Month, 1709. This is an autobiographical, featuring his conversion and an encounter with pirates handled nonviolently.

Essays On Salvation by Christ by JOB SCOTT Job Scott (1751-93), of Providence, Rhode Island, died in Ireland of smallpox after 19 years of ministry, leaving manuscripts that he felt still needed editing; his yearly meeting (New England) published his Journal much abridged in 1797. The essays on Salvation by Christ were first published by Emmor Kimber in 1824 under the title Salvation by Christ. To which is added, Remarks upon the Nature of Salvation by Christ, showing that it is a Birth of Divine Life in Man, Known long before the Appearance of our Lord in that Body that was born of the Virgin Mary, in which he did the Father's Will, and exemplified and displayed the Way and Work of Salvation, as a Union of God and Man: -- a Work of God in Man, and of Man by God, in a blessed Harmony, and Co-operation. Journal of John Woolman John Woolman was born at Northampton, N. J., in 1720, and died at York, England, in 1772. He Was the child of Quaker parents, and from his youth was a zealous member of the Society of Friends. His "Journal," published posthumously in 1774, sufficiently describes his way of life and the spirit in which he did his work; but his extreme humility prevents him from making clear the importance of the part he played in the movement against slaveholding among the Quakers.
