Not all search engines use the same Boolean Search Syntax.   Some examples are given below to help you form your correct search strategy.

To reduce the number of documents retrieved by your search, try combining multiple terms with the search operators. Example:

+"mountain climbing" +photos -tours

finds pages containing the phrase mountain climbing and the word photos, but not the word tours.

Search operators AND, OR, and AND NOT must be entered as capital letters to be recognized.

Use parentheses to group search terms. The search:

pie AND (custard OR coconut)

will retrieve documents that contain the word pie and either of the words custard or coconut.
