Volume Lab

Hello!  Please visit  the three webpages below.  Record the information on your "Notes" from the "Metric Prefixes" page.

This week we expolored measuring volume using a "Triple Balance Bean" and a "Graduated Cylinder."

  1. Common Equivalent Weights and Measures

  2. Metric Prefixes Conversions from a multiple or submultiple to the basic units of meters, liters, or grams can be done using the table. For example, to convert from kilometers to meters, multiply by 1,000 (9.26 kilometers equals 9,260 meters) or to convert from meters to kilometers, multiply by 0.001 (9,260 meters equals 9.26 kilometers).

  3. Mathematical Notation for Orders of Magnitude one-quintillionth to one quintillion -- how do you write it?

  4. Matter/Measurement/Standard/Volume

  5. The Franklin Institute Online Puzzles Play one of the puzzles and give a brief write-up of what you did online.  Include it in your folder for extra credit.
