Queries on Unity with Nature  - http://www.infohabitat.org/values/qouwn.htm

The scope and immediacy of the current threat to life on earth have led some Friends to call for the formulation of a clear Quaker testimony on our relationship with the natural world, and for the dissemination of such a testimony with the vigor that has marked Quaker testimonies such as those on Peace and Slavery. The following queries have been prepared as a way of helping us to develop such a testimony, to examine our spiritual relationship with the natural world, and to explore the implications of living our lives centered in such a relationship.

Queries to Consider

1. How gently do I choose to walk on the earth?

2. What changes in my actions and attitudes will move me most clearly towards a right relationship with the earth?

3. What emotional, rational and spiritual tensions do I experience as I consider my present and future relationship with the earth?

4. What resources -- spiritual and material -- and what friends and allies can I turn to for help in finding a resolution to these tensions?

5. How can I gain support through sharing my concerns, commitments and actions with family, friends and community, and from helping them with theirs -- perhaps through a regular support group?
